Ober Gatlinburg Activities

Tennessee’s only ski resort is located near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg. Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort is alive and thriving from December through March each year.  Ski and snowboard enthusiasts are raring to go hit the many different slopes. Beginners will want to try their first runs on the Ski School Slope and Club Way. Intermediate skiers are invited to try the Ober Chute, Bear Run, Castle Run and Alpine Run and advanced skiers will enjoy the challenges of Grizzly Trail and Mogul Ridge.  Hop on the tram or drive on up to Ober for some fresh mountain air!

Also featured as one of many Ober Gatlinburg Activiites is a 9-lane, 400 foot snow Tubing Park with a 50 foot vertical drop. It is one of the finest in the south and has the capacity to host 150 visitors per session and 100 percent snow making coverage. Be sure to holler on your way down!

Ice Skating is year round at Ober, but during the winter season business is booming with young kids to retirees lacing up and enjoying the rink! The indoor ice arenas open early every morning and rates start at only $9.00 for a 3 hour session which includes skate rentals. This is a great economical way to spend time with your kids. Not to mention, they will be exhausted after such a fun day which will be great for you parents out there that need to relax a bit yourselves.

There is absolutely something for everyone at Ober Gatlinburg. If you are an adventure enthusiast you will, of course, enjoy the snow tubing, skiing and snowboarding. For those that prefer to stay indoors when it’s cold outside will love the ice skating and amaze’n maze. There are a lot for young children to do other than skating as well. Ober offers mini golf, a carousel, wildlife encounter and some kid rides as well. Oh, and let us not forget about the Chair Lift that offers up some amazing view for those that are not afraid of heights.

Now, all those fun activities you will be enjoying will surely work up an appetite. Lucky for you, Ober has you covered. You do not even have to step out into the streets of Gatlinburg to grab a delicious meal. If you are looking for something small or a quick burger, slice of pizza or even some tacos, check out The Market, Sidewalk Cafe or the LeConte Deli. Finish your meal off with a stop at The Fudge Shop for something that will satisfy that sweet tooth. Now, if you have really worked up an appetite or simply want something like steak or pork chops, then you will love the Seasons of Ober Restaurant. Their food is grilled to perfection and they offer many sides to complete your meal.
