6 Pigeon Forge Must See April Events

No matter the month or season, there is never a shortage of things to do in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. When April hits though, it is almost like the mountains come alive and I suppose they really do in a way. Flowers are blooming, grass is growing greener and people are traveling for those much needed Spring Breaks. To help you make the most of your time in the Smoky Mountain area, we have put together a guide, of sorts, to help you decide what you cannot miss out on while visiting our beautiful area.

  1. Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament

We often have folks that like to fish vacation with us at our Bear Crossing and Cedar Lodge properties here in Pigeon Forge. Why you may ask? When staying at our riverside condos you do not even have to leave the property to catch some trout. For most it is a casual hobby. However, if you are an expert, may we suggest you take part in the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament that is to be held on April 1st and 2nd. This 19th annual event gives out more than $10,000 in cash and prizes, including $500 for the largest and small trout and gift certificates for fishing equipment and attractions. For more information, visit the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament website.

  1. Smoky Mountain Winefest

The Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts holds this incredible event. This is a great opportunity for you to sample wines from all over the state of Tennessee. Local wineries such as Cades Cove Cellars and Apple Barn Winery will be joining in on the fun. There will also be samples of food for everyone to enjoy. This event is really made up of two events. The first is the Gatlinburg Wine Tour which will be Friday April 7th. You will be taken on a guided tour of Gatlinburg’s wineries. The second event is the actual winefest. It will be on April 8th. This is a popular event so be sure to buy your tickets early.
