Pigeon Forge Shows
There is absolutely nothing like a good belly laugh. Don’t you agree? Laughter really does do the heart a lot of good and I can tell you from experience that when you visit the Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge, you will laugh your head off. I am not kidding! They do such a variety of acts that range from a ventriloquist entertaining you, to flat out comedy, animal tricks and audience participation. I think the audience participation is probably my favorite part! There is just something about watching unsuspecting people walk on stage with complete suspicion as to what they are going to have to do. Truly a good time. The Comedy Barn not only delivers on amazing acts, but they serve up some good food as well. I always like to grab a big bucket of their popcorn prior to the show. No worries if you arrive right when the show begins though because they do an intermission and it offers plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and a good cola as well.
Who likes Country Music? How about Gospel? The Country Tonite Show is one of the longest running shows in town and continues to win award after award. Why you may ask? They know how to put on an entertaining show that families of all ages will enjoy. From classic rock to gospel and country, they do some of the best songs that have graced the radio stations. You will want to clap and sing along! Not only do they know how to sing, but they can put on a mighty good dance show too. Take it from us, visit the Country Tonite Theater the next time you are on a Pigeon Forge Vacation.
Ever notice how the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show always has a packed parking lot during their showtimes? If you are hungry, like to laugh and enjoy some solid southern entertainment, this show will be a favorite of yours. This show is about two families that try to settle a feud mountain-style. The kids will love the comedy acts, shows of strength and the adults will be amazed at the stunts and singing. Become a part of the longest feud in town, book a seat at one of the best dinner shows in town.
Did you all know that we love Dolly Parton around these parts? We basically scream it from the mountain top. She does so much for this community and gives back to her hometown often. Not only do locals love her, but she is loved by the entire country and especially folks that vacation in our neck of the woods. She not only has one of the top theme parks in the world right here in Pigeon Forge, but she also has two incredible dinner shows. Dixie Stampede has been here, entertaining vacationers year after year since 1988. The show is excellent and give you a chance to see thrilling horse riding stunts, insane special effects and a great music production all while enjoying some friendly competition between the North and the South. Oh, as they also serve up a delicious four course meal! The soup is my absolute favorite…it can be 102 outside and I would still crave a bowl of that creamy vegetable soup. If you haven’t had it, book a reservation for the show and then you can thank me later. 🙂
New this year in town is Dolly’s other show, Smoky Mountain Adventures. The folks of the Smoky Mountains love tradition and we love passing stories and tradition down generation after generation. The story of Dolly’s parents is told by Applejack, a resident storyteller, in this faith and family filled show. There are some incredible high flying acts, great special effects and a lot of laughter. You also receive a good ole southern cooked four course meal that will delight you. From creamy soup, fried chicken, pork, corn and potatoes right down to the peach pie, you will leave happy and satisfied. This new show is called “the most exciting place to eat in the Smokies” for a good reason! Check it out on your next Smoky Mountain Vacation.
Now that we have talked about a few of the amazing shows in Pigeon Forge, let me tell you about one of my favorite shows in Gatlinburg. Since opening in 1977, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre has been entertaining Gatlinburg Vacationers for decades. They are Gatlinburg’s only musical comedy entertainment attractions and they deliver on hilarity! They know the entertainment business. In fact, they have had over 30 original musical comedies that have held their world premieres at the theatre and quite a few of those have gone on to play in big cities such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Bottom line, if you love music and laughter, head on into Sweet Fanny Adams for some side splitting laughs and fun. They are located just around the corner from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.
There is no better time to visit one of the top family destinations in the East! Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are full of fun attractions, family friendly shows, one of a kind shopping and delicious food.
