We have so many things that go on for the holiday that you won’t want to miss. Let’s take a look at the 4th of July in the Smokies!

Gatlinburg

This charming and beautiful town will be the first to start off the 4th of July celebrations, and they’ll be starting early. Gatlinburg actually has one very special honor, it hosts the first Independence Day parade in the entire nation! This amazing event will begin at midnight, but trust us when we say, you want to get here early and get your chairs set up. Over 100,000 spectators come every year to see this magical parade, so that just tells you how truly incredible it is. It will begin at the Baskins Creek Bypass and will continue on all the way to traffic light #10 which is Ski Mountain Rd. The parade will feature live music, extravagant floats, and much more, you are sure to have one fantastic and patriotic experience while celebrating America’s birthday! Don’t forget that you can park at Pi Beta Phi, the elementary school at traffic light #6, and you only have to pay $5, but it goes towards the students and the school. Gatlinburg will also have it’s very own fireworks show that will begin at 10 pm around traffic lights #3 and #5, but are completely visible throughout the entire parkway. This show is absolutely spectacular, you will love watching the colors light up the sky and our majestic mountains in the background. You won’t want to miss seeing these amazing fireworks, and don’t forget to watch the finale, it’s so unbelievably breathtaking! You know how beautiful Gatlinburg already is, so just imagine getting to add seeing colors dancing around in the sky at night during this visit.

Pigeon Forge

Pigeon Forge is another great place to be especially during this special holiday. We will be hosting our annual Patriot Festival, which Fox News describes as one of “the Best Fourth of July Fireworks Displays in America!” Located at Patriot Park (traffic light #7), this amazing festival is filled with a kid’s carnival, a veterans tribute, games, activities, food vendors, live music, family fun, fireworks, and much more. The festivities will kick off at 12 pm and it’s completely free for everyone, so bring a couple lawn chairs or a blanket and get yourself set up early because it will fill up fast! The musical entertainment will begin at 1:30 pm and you’ll be able to hear plenty of talents like our Pigeon Forge Community Chorus. After that, it’s time to welcome our special guests, Electric Avenue, which are sure to be a real treat. After that, it’s time to welcome our headlining artist this year. Country star Craig Morgan will be there to perform some of his hit songs like “That’s What I Love About Sunday” and “Almost Home.” He’s actually a veteran of the US Army, so this is extra special and we can’t wait to get to see him live! Finally, it’s time for the Grand Finale. Get ready to watch as the sky lights up with a beautiful array of colors during their amazing fireworks extravaganza! It’s a magical end to an exciting day and it’s sure to be one event that you and the family will never forget.

If you’re looking for something else to do on the 4th of July in Pigeon Forge, we recommend visiting Dollywood. This park really helped to put our town on the map and they will definitely offer plenty of family fun while you’re visiting. They will be open from 10am to 10pm and they have non stop entertainment, shows, and rides. From rollercoasters to kiddie zones, they will have something for everyone to do. Best of all, they have their “Dolly’s Night of Many Colors” that will feature a fireworks extravaganza that’s choreographed with music. This special show is truly amazing and you will love being able to end a day of fun with colors dancing in the sky all around you.
