Fall is my favorite season and here in Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas, we take full advantage of celebrating it and all its natural beauty (as well as all the other exciting things that come with it!) The leaves will be changing colors, the scent of pumpkin spice lattes will be in the air, and all the fun harvest events will be starting! One of the most exciting events that come into town during this season is the Fall Craftmen’s Fair in Gatlinburg! From October 5th-22nd, at the convention center, you’ll be able to see some of the best craftsmen from all over the United States show off their skills for us all to see. They’ll answer questions, show you hands on demonstrations of their work, and even have some of their arts and crafts up for sale for us to take home and show our friends and family. There will also be some free music for everyone to enjoy. If you’re a fan of country and bluegrass music, then this will be just the place for you! With free music at 12, 2, and 4 pm every day of the fair except for Sundays when it will be at 12 and 2, you’re sure to be able to dance your way throughout the entire convention center! This is the 41st annual fair, so you can definitely tell that this is one that just can’t be missed! Stop by traffic light #8 in Gatlinburg this October to experience an event that you and the family are sure to never forget! If you can’t make it here in October, have no fear, there will be a summer one as well!

When someone mentions things to do in Pigeon Forge, I’m sure one place we all, especially us locals, automatically think of is Dollywood! This amusement park really helps bring the new season to light with their family friendly Harvest Festival! From September 29th-October 28th, the park will completely transform to the Fall spirit, they will go all out with harvest events and decorations that are sure to be a crowd pleaser! As they say, get ready to experience all that fall has to offer when you visit this amazing theme park. There will be free concerts every day that will be featuring some southern gospel tunes that are sure to make you tap your feet. Get ready to see some handmade crafts made by numerous artisans that will be there to work their magic right in front of your eyes! You will not believe the talents they hold, and you are definitely going to want to leave with some of those goodies in hand. Now if you’re as big of a fan of Halloween as I am, you’ll be excited to know that this year will be the unveiling of a new site at the harvest festival! They will be introducing the Great Pumpkin LumiNights! That’s right, this year when you wander throughout the Timber Canyon, you will get to see thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns. With all different carvings and creations, this is sure to bring that Halloween essence to life! There will be other whimsical and surely spooktacular things to see when you venture through. They’ll also be doing some glow in dark face painting and other fun activities for us all to take advantage of! Be sure to check out Dollywood’s website to get a sneak peak of this huge addition that we’ll finally get to see this month. With so many fun goodies in store, this is definitely one event that must be on your list of places to see this October!
